About this model
PRS's best-known import model. Clean flame or quilt tops sit at the top of the range, and the SE Custom 24-08 sells in a similar band.
A USA-made PRS Custom 24 is a very different price. Check the headstock for 'SE' before you price one.
What to check before you buy
- Sight down the neck for twist or bow
- Check truss rod turns (a few degrees, not more)
- Look at the headstock join for repair lines
- Plug in: every pickup position and both pots
- Fret wear under strings 1-3 near the nut
Common faults and rough repair costs
| Fault | Fix | Rough cost |
|---|---|---|
| Crackly / scratchy pots or jacks | Easy - DIY, no special tools | £5-£12 |
| Needs a setup | Easy - DIY, no special tools | £0-£50 |
| Intermittent signal / loose connection | Medium - soldering / disassembly / YouTube guide | £3-£25 |
| Neck / headstock break | Hard - specialist repair, usually not worth it | £80-£250 |
| Tuner / machine head | Easy - DIY, no special tools | £10-£45 |
Questions people ask about this model
How do I tell a PRS SE from a USA PRS?
The SE has 'SE' on the headstock. A USA-made Custom 24 has no 'SE' and sells for several times more, so a 'PRS Custom 24' listing at an SE price needs a close look.
Do the bird inlays and top affect value?
The top does more than the inlays. A clean flame or quilt top sits towards £600; dings in a figured top cost more than on a plain finish.
What should I check on a used PRS SE Custom 24?
The tremolo for smooth return, tuning stability after a few dives, the coil-split on the tone knob, and fret wear.

Steady year-round; peaks Sept-Dec. Fender/Gibson/PRS/Squier/Epiphone sell within days at the right price, obscure brands take weeks.

Where this price comes from
This is the range the flipper extension uses for a used PRS SE Custom 24 in working order in the UK. It is a starting point, not a quote: condition, extras, the original box and where you are all move the price, and faulty ones sell for much less.
The condition bands above are the same multipliers the extension applies to a listing. On a live Marketplace listing, flipper checks that range against real sold prices and live eBay listings for the exact model, works out your profit after fees and flags faults the seller mentions. It is free while in testing. Join the testers.
