About this model

The Mexican-made Player series replaced the Mexican Standard in 2018, and Player II followed in 2024. Strats and Teles from the series sell in the same band.

Player Plus models (noiseless pickups, locking tuners) sell above this range. Check the headstock decal and the neck plate, because a Player Plus is sometimes listed as a plain Player, and the other way round.

What to check before you buy

Sight down the neck for twist or bow
Check truss rod turns (a few degrees, not more)
Look at the headstock join for repair lines
Plug in: every pickup position and both pots
Fret wear under strings 1-3 near the nut
