The Studio is Gibson's plainer Les Paul, with no binding on most years. Prices vary with year, finish and whether the original hard case is included.
Headstock breaks are the classic Gibson fault. Look at the back of the neck just below the headstock, in good light, before you pay.
What to check before you buy
- Sight down the neck for twist or bow
- Check truss rod turns (a few degrees, not more)
- Look at the headstock join for repair lines
- Plug in: every pickup position and both pots
- Fret wear under strings 1-3 near the nut
