About this model

The step-up portable model, still in the shops at £488 (Thomann UK, October 2026). Fifteen sold listings that month put used ones at £387-£526 without a stand, so nobody is giving these away second-hand.

Ask whether the three-pedal unit (Yamaha's LP-1B) is included: on its own it sells for around £40, and listings that leave it out need pricing down. Play every key, and try the headphone sockets, which are the part most likely to be worn.

Questions people ask about this model

Why are used P-225 prices so close to new?

Because it is a current model in short supply. A new one was £488 at Thomann in October 2026 and sold used examples that month ran £387-£526 without a stand, so nobody is giving these away second-hand.

Does a P-225 come with pedals?

Not usually. Yamaha's three-pedal unit for this model, the LP-1B, is a separate part that sells for around £40 on its own, so a listing without it needs pricing down.

What should I check on a used P-225?

Every key, and the headphone sockets, which are the part most likely to be worn on one that has been gigged. Ask whether the power supply is the Yamaha one, and test the sustain pedal jack on the back.

Selling one on

Yamaha P-45/P-125, Roland FP-10/30, Casio Privia sell within days - parents and students buy constantly. Console pianos with furniture stands are slow (nobody wants to move them).

Collection only; 88-key units are 12-20kg and awkward. Include stand and pedal if you can.

Where this price comes from

This is the range the flipper extension uses for a used Yamaha P-225 in working order in the UK. It is a starting point, not a quote: condition, extras, the original box and where you are all move the price, and faulty ones sell for much less.

The condition bands above are the same multipliers the extension applies to a listing. On a live Marketplace listing, flipper checks that range against real sold prices and live eBay listings for the exact model, works out your profit after fees and flags faults the seller mentions. It is free while in testing. Join the testers.
