About this model
The classic 2x12 valve combo. This range is for current production AC30s such as the AC30C2. Hand-wired and vintage AC30s are priced separately.
It weighs over 30kg, so most sales are collection-only. Let it warm up, listen for crackle and check the valves glow evenly.
What to check before you buy
- Power on and let it warm for 10 minutes - listen for crackle, hum, cut-outs
- Every knob through its range
- Reverb / effects loop / footswitch jacks
- Valve glow even and not red-plating
- Speaker cone for tears; push gently for rubbing voice coil

Questions people ask about this model
What should I check on a used AC30?
Let it warm for ten minutes, then listen for crackle, hum and cut-outs. Check every valve glows, both channels and the reverb, and push the speaker cones gently for rubbing.
How much do new valves cost for an AC30?
A full retube is a real cost, so ask when the valves were last changed. Tired valves are a fair reason to offer less.
Can I post a Vox AC30?
It is over 30kg, so most sales are collection-only. That limits your buyers to people nearby, so price for a local sale.
Selling one on
Boss Katana, Fender/Marshall/Vox valve combos and Orange sell same-week. Big 4x12 cabs and 100W heads are slow and awkward. Small practice amps under £40 are barely worth listing.
Heavy - collection only for anything over 15kg. Valve amps do not travel well.
Where this price comes from
This is the range the flipper extension uses for a used Vox AC30 in working order in the UK. It is a starting point, not a quote: condition, extras, the original box and where you are all move the price, and faulty ones sell for much less.
The condition bands above are the same multipliers the extension applies to a listing. On a live Marketplace listing, flipper checks that range against real sold prices and live eBay listings for the exact model, works out your profit after fees and flags faults the seller mentions. It is free while in testing. Join the testers.
