About this model

The standard live vocal mic, and one of the most faked. A genuine SM58 is heavy, the grille threads smoothly and the lettering is crisp.

They are close to indestructible, so used ones are usually fine once the grille is cleaned.

Shure SM58/SM57/SM7B are cash. Watch for fakes on SM58 and SM7B - very common. Wireless systems on cleared bands (channel 69, 854-862 MHz, and the 700 MHz band, 694-790 MHz) can no longer be used legally in the UK - check the frequency on the label. Channel 70 (863-865 MHz) is still licence-free.
